Position Overview

The merchandising manager will be responsible for developing and purchasing new products for a promotional products supplier.

Responsibilities

The merchandising manager is expected to be knowledgeable about company needs and goals while keeping a close watch on inventory levels and the needs of clients. The merchandising manager will monitor sales histories of various products to maximize efficiency.

?Responsible for new product design and development

?Responsible for sourcing, quality, sampling, and price negotiation

?Contribute to business and trend strategy ideas

?Participate in tactical meetings with vendors and manufacturers to develop business partnerships

?Responsible for ordering new products through vendors

?Track goods from ship window through to receipt date and coordinates with logistics and customs to resolve issues

?Analyze selling reports and recommends strategic reactions for best/worst sellers

?Partner with the Marketing team to identify new packaging and branding needs

?Partner with Marketing on development of new catalogue

?Coordinate consumer testing and all relevant testing of new products

?Partner with Sales Team to understand customer needs

?Partner with Sales Team Develop and maintain preferred vendor list

Skills

?Skilled in factory sourcing and knowledge of contact related to the industry

?Knowledge of safety, quality and product concerns associated with the promotional products industry

?Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under limited supervision

?Competency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel & Outlook)

?Excellent verbal and written communication skills

?Significant domestic and international travel required

Education/Experience

?Bachelors degree in Merchandising, Purchasing or Business Administration preferred

?3 - 5 years of experience
